Air-Britain in 2010 - Chairman's NoteAir-Britain in 2010 This note tells you about the exciting plans we have for the coming year. Since the start of the global economic troubles, we have been more mindful than ever of the need to provide Air-Britain members with outstanding value for money. We hope you'll agree that our offering for 2010 achieves just that.
Air-Britain News (ABN) The great news is that ABN subscriptions will be cheaper for all subscribers. For instance, UK readers who subscribe to ABN only will pay £38 rather than £43. If you subscribe for two years, the equivalent annual rate falls to £35.50. Increased distribution costs prevent us from being quite as generous to all ABN readers outside the UK, but wherever you live, you will still save at least £3.
From January 2010, ABN will have a new, fresher look. It will have fewer black-and-white pictures (but don't panic! read on). We also have plans to improve topicality.
Aviation World Judging by what was said at our AGM, Aviation World is already delighting members with its diverse content - both historical and contemporary - and all those beautiful colour photographs.
I'm delighted that in 2010, each edition of Aviation World will bring you at least an additional four pages brimming with topical colour pictures - and at no extra cost. By doing this, we are not only compensating ABN subscribers for having fewer black and white pictures, but also providing all members with better-than-ever colour pictorial coverage of the current aviation scene.
Aeromilitaria and Archive Subscriptions to these titles have been pegged for yet another year.
Books publishing If you buy Air-Britain books, you'll will know that your discount can hugely reduce the real cost of membership and perhaps even eliminate it. I wish I could list all the books we hope to publish in 2010, but that might provide a commercial advantage to competitors. Despite the economic situation, our books continue to sell extremely well - our 2009 sales are well above those of 2008. They continue to receive outstanding reviews. So, unlike some other publishers, we see no reason to curb our programme.
During 2010 we will continue to release a wide range of quality titles, still enabling you to buy at hugely discounted prices.
How to renew your membership The membership renewal form for 2010 (and 2010+2011) is the reverse of the magazine address label. The magazine address label shows the expiry date of your current membership and your membership number. If you have already paid up until December 2010, please ignore the renewal form.
**Preferably, renew (or join) here on-line, rather than use the form**
All members who between 1 November 2008 and 30 September 2009 took a membership valid for 2009+2010 for Categories A, E, F or G, have been recorded with a £3 credit, which may be claimed when renewing for 2011.
I very much hope you will continue your membership of (or join) Air-Britain as we strive to enrich your enjoyment of current and historical aviation.
