On The Wings of a Gull - Percival and Hunting Aircraft

David W.Gearing

At last, in the detail for which Air-Britain books are renowned, the full story of Percival and Hunting aircraft from the 1933 to the 1960s. Percival gained fame with its classy and record-breaking pre-war Gull family, flown by Alex Henshaw, Jean Batten and other headline-grabbing pioneers. Then, with war, Percival provided the Proctor, and under licence built the Oxford and Mosquito. Post-war, the growing civil market together with the continuing need for military training and communications aircraft spawned the Prentice, the Prince and Pembroke, the Provost and Jet Provost, and finally (under the BAC banner) the Jet Provost T5 and the Strikemaster.

Such an illustrious line-up of types warrants a superlative book and Air-Britain has achieved it. Illustrated by more than 1,000 photographs, many not published before, 32 pages of them in colour, plus 3-view drawings, this handsome volume also documents the experimental designs and the complex evolution of the company.
Full production lists of all Percival and Hunting types, with the comprehensive detail that only Air-Britain can provide, complete this very special book.
