Since its formation in 1948, Air-Britain has led the way in producing highly accurate and detailed books and pamphlets for aviation enthusiasts and historians. The subject range has been diverse. It has included aircraft type profiles (from World War One to the present day), airliner fleet surveys, squadron and airfield histories, registers covering much of the world, and particularly the aircraft used by Britain’s armed forces.

In the early days, many titles were home produced in small numbers and have become scarce collectors items. More ambitious titles appeared from the 1960s and substantial hardback books made their debut in the 1980s.
